First edition. Original red cloth with gilt and black titles to the upper board and spine. A very good copy, the cloth rubbed and a little frayed to the extremities. The contents complete, the rear hinge is cracked but holding, the pages with some spotting to the margins. The large fold out map is present as called for, and in clean and bright condition with a short closed tear to one edge. With the ink presentation inscription of the books dedicatee General Sir Horatio Shirley, K. C. B. to the half title. Scarce.
